Corporate America Supports SER
IBM
IBM is the oldest and largest supporter of SER in a partnership of 36 years with contributions of product and services totaling 15 million dollars. Thanks to IBM, SER is able to offer a variety of innovative technology programs to the SER Network of Affiliates. IBM has provided funds to create a state-of-the art computer lab for participants in the Senior Community Service Employment Program in Fort Worth, Texas. The computer training has greatly enhanced their ability to prepare for new jobs and second careers.
CHRYSLER FINANCIAL
SER National has partnered with Chrysler Financial for an ongoing series of SER Financial Literacy luncheons and job fairs at SER affiliate locations throughout the country. These events provide basic introduction to financial literacy to increase awareness of the tools available to save and plan for the future. States targeted for the campaign include include: California, Colorado, Illinois, Florida, Louisiana, New Jersey, New Mexico and Texas.
VERIZON, PROCTER & GAMBLE
SER National, Verizon and Procter & Gamble corporations are in partnership
to develop pilot projects in English language acquisition for incumbent workers who need to communicate on the job. Providing occupational English will greatly enhance the ability of limited English speakers to take advantage of career opportunities.
HOME DEPOT
SER National and The Home Depot have signed a formal partnership agreement
to increase the number of bilingual or Spanish-speaking employees in Home Depot stores nationwide. The Home Depot has also partnered with SER to provide job opportunities for older workers who have been trained in customer service. The SER senior program staff in countless cities has worked hand-in-hand with The Home Depot to place people in jobs.
MILLER BREWING COMPANY
SER National and the Miller Brewing Company have developed a pilot project to provide online interactive training in customer service for participants of the Senior Community Service Employment Program in the Ft. Worth, Texas and Miami, Florida, all of who have limited English skills. The project has also provided funds to complete the installation of a computer lab at the Ft. Worth facility and provide computer training for all seniors enrolled in the job training program..

Diversity and inclusion remain key business strategies for Ford Motor Company and SER-Jobs for Progress National, Inc. that foster high-performing teams and organizations and drives business results.
The Ford donation will allow SER-Jobs for Progress National, Inc. to better serve its communities by providing greatly needed support to local programs. SER National feels strongly that the Ford Fund donation will better enable us to serve the needs of SER Communities. The donation will support SER’s efforts to foster employer relationships in providing employment placement. |
