SER National funded by DOL for Generational Diversity Awareness Program

SER National has been funded by the U.S. Department of Labor 502(e) Program to create a Generational Diversity Awareness Training [GDAT] program with the private sector addressing negative stereotypes surrounding the employment of mature workers. Through this program, SER National will develop partnerships with business and industry and coordinate generational diversity training for local hiring managers and supervisors within the states of Florida, California and Colorado. Key private sector partners include the Multicultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance (“MFHA”) and The Home Depot.

The overarching program goal is to create a local infrastructure where the Senior Community Service Employment participant, who is looking for unsubsidized employment, and the local hiring manager, who is seeking a qualified worker, have greater knowledge, understanding and respect for each other.
