SER Career Prep High School
SER National now offers the convenience of anytime-anywhere SER Career Prep High School which will allow students to receive their diploma and will also prepare students for a new career.
SER’s Career Online High School is delivered in partnership with Education To Go (ed2go) and Smart Horizons Online Education.
SER Career Prep High School is a division of Smart Horizons Career Online Education, a private school district that has been granted District Accreditation from the AdvancED Accreditation Commission, the national commission that confers the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) accreditation seal.
This means that the SHCOE district and all its schools are accredited, and that Smart Horizons Career Online Education is recognized across the nation as a quality school system.

Curriculum Design
Standards-based curriculum
The career online high school curriculum is standards-based and objective-driven.
The curriculum complies with the State of Florida Department of Education’s Career Preparatory Diploma and also meets or exceeds standards such as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills Standards, Florida’s Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and other national content associations.
The career online high school has developed a curriculum composed of four core content areas:
- 4 Language Arts
- 3 Math
- 3 Science
- 4 Social Studies
- 4 Career Electives
The career online high school is designed in a way that provides an opportunity for students to learn in accordance with their schedule, with availability to courseware 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year.
The four career path programs include:
1. High School Diploma with Office Management Training
This program teaches students the skills they need to begin a career as an office manager, receptionist, data input specialist, or customer service representative.
2. High School Diploma with Certified Protection Officer Training
This program trains students to begin a career as a security guard or protection officer.
3. High School Diploma with Homeland Security Training
This program provides students with the skills they need to begin a career as a security officer, baggage screener, or compliance inspector.
4. High School Diploma with Child Care Training
This program prepares students for a career in education.
