Coaching to Care: SER-Jobs for Progress, Inc. “Investing in America’s Healthcare Workforce”
SER National’s Coaching to Care initiative is an innovative, nation-wide workforce program that uses cutting edge technological tools and a personalized “coaching” approach to facilitate career exploration in the healthcare industry. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that four million new healthcare jobs will be generated between 2008 and 2018. Aligning with this trend, Coaching to Care offers unemployed and underemployed individuals the ability to discover, prepare for, and obtain employment in healthcare occupations using comprehensive career enhancement software, web-based educational resources, and one-on-one career coaching. In harmony with the SER National mission, Coaching to Care provides increased access to computers with internet connectivity to Hispanics, African-Americans, and other underserved populations to take advantage of the available resources for workforce readiness and exploration through its national network of local affiliates.
