Debes Creer En Ti (DCET)
The mission of DCET is to provide literacy programs, workforce development programs, and other educational and cultural initiatives for underserved low and moderate-income immigrant, Hispanic/Latino youth and their families in their process of assimilation and acculturation, allowing them to become productive members of society.
Most of DCET Hispanic/Latino clients are emerging leaders and individuals in need of education and workforce development services, as well as information and referrals to social services through a network of related non-profit corporations. DCET has helped at-risk students remain in school, and has graduated hundreds of ESL and computer literacy students. The program also makes direct job placements in addition to creating many new jobs. DCET awards internships to needy students who are from families with low and moderate incomes. DCET’s successful youth mentoring program, Folkloric Arts Mentoring Amigos, has made a positive impact in the lives of hundreds of children.
